Day 1
Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your adventure begins when your tour guide picks you up from your hotel in Kigali, Rwanda. Enjoy a brief city tour of Kigali, visiting important sites like the genocide memorials and local markets. Then, drive through the scenic hills of Rwanda and cross into Uganda. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to mountain gorillas. Check in and relax at your lodge for the night. You’ll stay at places like Chameleon Hill Lodge, Nkuringo Gorilla Camp, Ruhija Gorilla Resort, or Nshongi Gorilla Resort. Meals: Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and regulations. Then, start your trek into the forest to find the endangered mountain gorillas. This hike can take around 5 hours, including the time spent observing the gorillas. The trek is suitable for people aged 15 and up, including older travelers. After the trek, return to the park headquarters to receive your certificate. Then, drive to Kisoro or the nearby area of Mgahinga National Park. Stay at Kisoro Travelers or Mutanda Resort. Meals: Full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
Day 3
Golden Monkey Tracking in Mgahinga National Park
After breakfast, drive to Mgahinga National Park for a briefing on golden monkey tracking rules. Enter the forest to search for these playful primates. Along the way, you may spot other wildlife and birds. In the afternoon, enjoy a self-guided nature walk through local communities. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Kisoro Traveler Rest Hotel. Meals: Full board.
Day 4
Lake Bunyonyi Boat Cruise and Transfer to Kigali
Start the day with a boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake in Africa. Explore its various islands, including Punishment Island. After lunch, begin your drive back to Kigali, crossing via the Katuna Border. If you have a night flight, this schedule will ensure you have enough time to catch your flight.
